Great tips! I especially like the last one because nothing is as useless and self-defeating as beating yourself up when you slip up. A former colleague once said to me, after hearing me berate myself for some self-perceived shortcoming, “Give yourself permission to be human.” It was one of the most liberating things I’d ever heard, and has had a tremendous influence on my life ever since. As you pointed out, we need to “treat ourselves with kindness,” take a deep breath, and try again. As someone once said, success is getting up one more time than you fall down.

I am so excited to have found your site. Your tips are wonderful and mirror my own thoughts although I think that you have definitely articulated your ideas better than I. This year I have set my own goals of not only making my resolution work but feeling grateful during the process. Thanks Ms. Ryan for your insights. I will bookmark this site for sure!
    Blessings,
    Christine
